PLN #22

For my twenty-second PLN I read article called "Soccer Fans Fall to Their Deaths in Brazil" made me realize how unstable and unpredictable things can really be. Last Sunday it was reported that eight people had died from unstable bleachers at a soccer game in north-east Brazil. The bleachers collapsed near the end of the game when the fans in the section began jumping up and down. It was also reported that at least a couple dozen fell through while just eight died many more were injured and hospitalized. At this point the police aren't exactly sure what caused the 56-year old building to collapse.

What Matters: I think what matters here is that eight people died just because of a stupid mistake that that could've and should've been avoided. The stadium after 56 definitely should have been either re-built or restored. If the team couldn't afford to make those changes then they should've at least made an announcement or something not to jump on 56 year old wood. It seems so stupid that eight people had to die and many more injured because they couldn't give out a simple warning or just replace the bleachers.

How this affects me: I myself go to many sporting events and although the stands aren't made out of wood it still seems pretty possible that they might be able to collapse. I remember a couple years ago at a Bronco's game(i think) that the escalator collapsed after a game and my cousins we're there. Luckily they weren't hurt but a lot of people were and it just shows you that things in life aren't always as reliable as they seem.

Joey, I thought you did a very good job on your presentation! One thing to work on is eye contact, but over all you did an awesome job! Keep up the good work!

You did a good job on reading loudly and clearly. Try to look up a little more from your notes but you still did a great job. I like how you went into good detail about all of your PLNs. Great Job!

Joey, you did an awesome job on your presentation. Try not to use your note cards so much, it was hard to hear you at times. Also, don't use 'and' so much, along with other filler words. Other than that, you seemed very confident in your presentation. Great job keeping on one main topic with most of your plns.

You did really good, but your PLNs weren't really related. Other than that you did a good job at looking at the audience and it looked like you knew what you were talking about.

Joey, you did a great job on your presentation. You need to look at the audiance more instead of your note cards. I can't believe that Colorado is one of the fit states. It's horrible that people don't watch their intake of food. You did great job and keep it up.

Joey,
I think that it is very interesting how china has never been up on the moon.
It is also interesting how they could only find 25 percent of the fake bombs! Makes you wonder if they were real if we could have terrorists slip by. Good job presenting! Your ideas about on your blogs are very good. An answer to your question: I agree with everyone else how his home run record should be tooken away. I
don't think it is fair to cheat and especially since so many athletes have done it. Overall good job.

Joey! I don't think there should be a race between China and the US to see who puts another man on the moon. But I guess its a big deal for China because they haven't put a man on the moon. I also think its scary that 3 out of the 4 men got through with the fake bombs. That means our security isn't very good! I agree with Alex that they should just give him the number of the home runs he made with out stereroids. Because the other guys made the record without stereroids and its not fair to them because they worked hard for it.
